After rice and spinach, GIANTS Software has announced two more crops that will appear in Farming Simulator 25: peas and green beans.
Starting November 12, virtual farmers will be able to cultivate a total of 25 crops on their fields, with various types of trees and greenhouse vegetables adding more variety than ever before. Interestingly, the number of crops now matching the “25” in the title is purely coincidental, according to the publisher and developer.
Growing peas and green beans
Peas are planted in March, early in the year, a month earlier than green beans. They mature in four months, and farmers use specialized equipment to harvest them after taking the usual steps to enhance the results. Large machines like the OXBO EPD540E, a self-propelled pea harvester, ensure a satisfying yield during the harvest season between July and October. Green beans are ready for harvest between August and December.
Rice & spinach, crops with special requirements
New details make rice and spinach even more appealing to farmers who aren’t afraid of crops that require special attention. Rice and long-grain rice are counted as two crops with different needs for water management and planting/harvesting equipment. Both types are planted in rice paddies, which are sunken to retain water. Spinach is not for farmers who enjoy sleeping in: this leafy crop can be harvested twice per season after planting – provided farmers are fast enough. Even after harvesting, haste is essential, as this crop cannot be stored and must be sold immediately before it wilts.

Leading up to the release, GIANTS Software will reveal even more new features. Recently, through previews, the developers also unveiled smaller details, such as a new third-person perspective on foot and grazing animals that help keep the grass short on fields.
